Dervish is a happy, affectionate, and confident dog who makes everyone smile. She is very engaged and always wants to be involved in everything.She loves children and people and is very good with other dogs. She is a very social dog, though not in a crazy way. Sometimes she comes to university classes with Nicole, especially during Final Exams, because she is a very good therapy dog. She does not rush around or jump on anyone, but goes up to them very gently, to introduce herself, and then when they reach out, she gives them lots of kisses (she has a very long tongue and loves to give kisses). She has very good social smarts and will approach new dogs cautiously, especially now she is a bit older, but she really likes to interact with them and, once she gets to know them better, to play. She is also a very nurturing dog. If anyone is injured or sad, she wants to comfort them and will lie quietly next to them..

Dervish loves to learn and loves toys. She loves to tug and has several favorite toys that she will carry around on walks or at agility trials. If somehow a toy is lost she is very good at remembering where it was or trailing our sent back to find it. She is also very food motivated, but given an active toy or food, she would take an active toy and ignore the food.

She loves training and competing in agility. She has a nice balance of biddability and drive. She can be a bit pushy on start lines and contacts, but has a very strong work ethic and desire to please. In agility she is fast and motivated, but she is a quiet worker
